Josh Howard's time with the Dallas Mavericks (2003-10) included a trip to the 2006 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat and an appearance in the NBA All-Star Game in 2007. He wound up leaving town as part of the trade with the Washington Wizards that brought Caron Butler Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to DFW on the eve of the 2010 NBA All-Star Game at Cowboys Stadium.
After playing last season with the Utah Jazz, he is back in Dallas for the Josh Howard 2012 All-Day Basketball Camp and Celebrity Weekend. The camp is for boys and girls over eight years of age and includes drills on shooting techniques, defense, passing, strength and life skills. Attendees will get t-shirts, lunch, door prizes and autographs. The action takes place June 18-22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at SortsPlex at Valley View. The Josh Howard Comedy Show is Friday June 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Palladium Ballroom with scheduled comedians including Cedman, 'Double D,' Vanessa Fraction and Red Grant. The celebrity basketball game is Saturday June 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the P.C. Cobb Complex. Competing celebrities include Dallas Cowboys players Dez Bryant and Marcus Spears, Los Angeles Clippers forward (and Dallas native) Kenyon Martin, Utah Jazz center Al Jefferson, Boston Celtics guard Marquis Daniels and former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens.
