With three shows at the new Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge this weekend, as well as a Solar-Powered Music Festival and a few other events, this is a pretty busy Father's Day weekend.
But if you haven't made plans -- and your dad likes cars, barbecue and/or alt-but-traditional country music -- here's another event: the second annual Glory Days Car Show, which will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the8000 block of Camp Bowie Blvd. West.
The show, presented by Camp Bowie District and sponsored by Comerica Bank, will feature hundress of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, vintage pickups and more. More than 40 awards will be given out at the show, and Camp Bowie District will give away a weeklong family vacation for four -- which, fittingly enough, will will include a road trip to Grand Canyon National Park in a vintage Airstream and Chevy Suburban (it's a one-way road trip -- the return trip is via Southwest Airlines). For information on that contest and to enter, go to the Camp Bowie District Facebook page.
The Derailers will perform (a taste is below) and Picassos Automotive will serve pit barbecue (sorry, can't provide a taste here).
Admission is free; if you want to register a car for the event, it's 10 bucks, via D&D Rockin Rods or at the show. For more information, go here. And here are the Derailers.
