High school 'Warriors'
The African-American Repertory Theater presents the one-woman show Warriors Don't Cry, which opens Friday. Starring Regina Washington, it is an adaptation by Eisa Davis of Melba Pattillo Beals' memoir of being one of the black students who integrated Little Rock's Central High School in 1957.

'Ruth' set free
Kitchen Dog Theater's New Works Festival (which begins June 2) is anchored by Ruth, a world-premiere play and a major happening considering it's by much-loved Dallas writer Vicki Caroline Cheatwood. The play is a modern retelling of the biblical story of Ruth and Naomi.

The Fort Worth Opera Festival continues with Tosca on Friday (7:30 p.m.), Lysistrata on Saturday (7:30 p.m.) and The Marriage of Figaro on Sunday (2 p.m.) at Bass Hall, and Three Decembers on Saturday (2 p.m.) and Thursday (7:30 p.m.) at Scott Theatre. It's getting down to the wire, and you're not going to have many more chances to see these shows.
