Fort Worth art-house theater project screens investors

Posted 7:55pm on Tuesday, Apr. 17, 2012

With a $3.5 million budget, the Citizen Theater -- which is to be located on the corner of Magnolia and Willing avenues -- is 80 percent funded, according to Amy McNutt and James Johnston. In addition to its two screens, the owners are planning a full-service bar in the lobby. They hope to raise the rest of the money in one of two ways: by finding someone who can secure a bank loan for them with a $150,000 certificate of deposit, or by finding individual equity investors.

Equity investors would have a minority ownership stake in the company. If you are interested in investing, you can find details at www.citizentheater.com.

"We always tell people that if we can make a vegan restaurant in Cowtown a success, then we can do anything," says Johnston.
