Music minute: Nervous Curtains and Dru B Shinin'

Posted 9:45pm on Tuesday, Mar. 20, 2012

Dallas post-punk trio Nervous Curtains just released its second full-length, Fake Infinity, and has been playing CD release shows in the area. You can find Sean Kirkpatrick and his bandmates at Lola's Saloon at 9 p.m. Saturday, with support from Pinkish Black and Vulgar Fashion. Seven bucks gets you in the door, if you're over 21; $11 if you are under 21.

Tireless Fort Worth-based rapper Dru B Shinin' will throw a party at the Grotto on Saturday, in honor of his latest LP, All American. The music gets going at 9 p.m., and he will be backed by a full band, including keyboardist EyeJay, guitarist The Shark, the Skeeves' Victor Salinas on bass and drummer Andy Weaver. The night will also feature a deep roster of local hip-hop and rock talent, including Monde Green ( Anetix, Phlegm and Brady Hamilton), the Skeeves, Big Cliff and members of Rabbit's Got the Gun, along with other special guests like JKush, Wrex Washington and Wealth Club.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
