While the term "going green" has been somewhat ubiquitous over the past few years, this spring it takes on a whole new meaning. Everywhere you look, you'll see clothes and accessories in verdant hues ranging from pastel mints to shocking citrons to rich kelly green.
Fashion houses took dramatically different inspiration from the color family. Louis Vuitton's pastel mint- and lace-clad models dismounted from a carousel to walk the runway, while Gucci's gals were an art deco dream, decked out in a deep, rich shade of green satin. And perhaps the most striking green dream we saw this season was actress Viola Davis' Vera Wang mermaid dress at last month's Oscars. Wow.
If pulling green for your everyday look seems daunting, think of the color as a neutral. Pair a patterned silk blouse with a green cropped pant or kelly green jean for daytime chic, or pick up a citron handbag to add a pop of color. Dare to be bold, and you'll create a St. Patrick's Day look to remember.
