There are plenty of good times to be had throughout DFW with one thing in common at every event: WEAR GREEN. Here is a random sampling of spots to hit in the Metroplex:

GREENVILLE AVE. ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE is the 33rd edition of the legendary all-day party that is the day's signature event in Dallas. It is one of the largest St. Patrick's Day parades in the southwest with crowds that can swell to over 100,000 people with its Mardi Gras-like atmosphere. While it appeared that due to budgetary constraints that this year's event may not take place, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban stepped up with a $40,000 contribution to ensure the show would go on. Cuban also pledged another $25,000 to the parade's scholarship fund. Festivities begin around 11 a.m. with the concert and after-party featuring Ryan Bingham & the Dead Horses.

If you want to avoid the mayhem down on the street but still partake in the parade's scene, TERILLI'S has $50 wristbands available for its VIP rooftop party that includes an unlimited burger buffet and $2 drafts. Further information, call (214) 827-3993.

For those in the area following the parade, the GRANADA THEATER and SUNDOWN AT GRANADA are hosting St. Patrick's Day after-parties. The Granada will have a $5 menu with tacos and BBQ brisket sandwiches and live music beginning at 8:00 p.m. With the largest patio on Lower Greenville, Sundown will have live music beginning at 12:30 p.m. and the accompanying $5 menu of tacos and BBQ sandwiches.

The SHERLOCK'S BAKER ST. PUB & GRILL in Lincoln Square has generated huge buzz over the past seven years with its "3 Day Music Festival" as huge crowds pour into the north Arlington hot spot beginning on Thursday. For further information and the music lineup, visit here.

Already entrenched as one of DFW's craziest party spots, the new MCFADDEN"S RESTAURANT & SALOON in Addison is making St. Patrick's Day an all-day affair beginning at 7 a.m. with 'Kegs & Eggs.' The huge party with over $3,000 in cash and prizes will include giveaways for the 100th, 200th and 300th guests and a trip to Ireland. Further information available here.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
