Madonna returning to North Texas for the first time in 12 years might have been the big music news of the day but, for those who like their pop songs with more feedback and fuzz, the addition of The Jesus and Mary Chain to the 35 Denton festival line-up is a bigger deal. The legendary British post-punk band -- formed in 1983, broke up in 1999, and reunited in 2007 -- will play March 11. 35 Denton, a blend of panels and performances like the larger South by Southwest in Austin, runs March 8-11.
The group, fronted by the Reid brothers, is responsible for the album Psychocandy, which some critics consider one of the best albums of the '80s. For more information on 35 Denton, go here.
