Ridglea Theater officially listed on National Register of Historic Places

Posted 2:48pm on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012

WFAA broke the news earlier this week, but it merits a follow-up mention: The Ridglea Theater, now owned by Jerry Shults and in the midst of what's sure to be a multi-million dollar restoration and renovation, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. (For more information about exactly what that entails, read here.)

The WFAA report cites a figure of $750,000 for restoration/renovation costs, and says the theater will be open by mid-year. Ahead of that, the Ridglea Bar (which I first told you about here) is slated to open next month. I've reached out to the booking agent responsible for the Ridglea Bar's stage (which already has, according to its Facebook page, bookings well into March) and will update when I hear back.

There's also the matter of the Moon's continued limbo, following November's parking-related setbacks, a story on which I'll hopefully have an update next week.
