Last night, Van Halen played the tiny New York City club Cafe Wha? as part of the announcement that the '80s rockers are hitting the road, with original vocalist David Lee Roth in tow.
They'll stop by American Airlines Center in Dallas June 20, four months after releasing A Different Kind of Truth, their first album with Roth since 1984. (No word yet on when tickets will go on sale, or if Kool and the Gang, tagged as the opening act for some tour dates, will appear in Dallas.) Expect lots of classics, but no appearance from founding bassist Michael Anthony; he's been cast aside for 20-year-old prodigy (and son of Eddie) Wolfgang Van Halen. Truth's first single, Tattoo, and its accompanying video will premiere Tuesday.
Below, a shakily filmed clip from last night's Cafe Wha? show, featuring the band blasting through (what else?) Panama.
