Coffee Dreamers of Texas is a new indie coffee shop opening on Alta Mere in White Settlement in early November from husband-and-wife John and Kim Holland, who've worked in the corporate world and wanted to open their own business.
"I’ve been an avid coffee drinker for 30 years," John says. "I've always enjoyed going to coffee shops, I figured, why not own one."
Located just north of Ridgmar Mall in a space that was briefly an optical store, the shop has the leather couches and free wi-fi that's de rigueur at coffeehouses, but also a fireplace and flat-screen TVs. Holland says he's getting his coffee beans from a company in Portland, Ore., and he'll also do sandwiches, pastries, and crepes. "Oh and I'm definitely bringing in fudge, that's going to be one of our signature items," he says.
