The following chart shows how many restaurants, since 2007, opened in Fort Worth and how many closed in that same year. The statistics are based on the number of new sales-tax permits issued by the Texas Comptroller's Office.
2007: 111 restaurants opened, 50 closed
2008: 116 opened, 87 closed
2009: 103 opened, 65 closed
2010: 113 opened, 87 closed
2011 (so far): 69 opened, 31 closed
