Surveying our ecletic arts scene, from the galleries to the stage.
The Texas Atomic Iron Commission sounds like some Cold War paramilitary organization, but it is an art group that has a show on view at Texas Woman's University in Denton. This collaborative organization, formed in 2007, of students, artists, universities and metalworking industries provides outlets for exhibitions and a network for sharing ideas. More than a dozen artists are represented in this endeavor, "Exposed: Sculpture by the Texas Atomic Iron Commission," with small to very large iron works. The exhibit will be on display Monday through Sept. 22 at the East/West Galleries in the Fine Arts Building, at Texas and Oakland streets on the TWU campus. www.twu.edu/visual-arts.
