Twin Peaks All-Star Bikini Contest is smokin' hot

As if the sweltering Texas summer was not enough, Twin Peaks Restaurants turned up the heat with its annual Twin Peaks All-Star Bikini Contest in Addison on July 24. The restaurant that is known for its gorgeous girls and 29 degree beer held contests at 14 of its locations with the top two from each event advancing to the finals.

The All-Star event has reached such epic proportions with its big crowds that Twin Peaks constructed a huge tent and offered valet parking for the overflowing lot. The tent felt like a 'Man Cave' as it was full of beautiful girls and cold beer. And of course there was my seat at the judges table that was front and center. That's right, after a weekend spent covering the Dallas Mavericks Dancers auditions, I closed out Sunday evening as a judge for this cool contest. In all there was eight judges, including Donovan Lewis from Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket and "Miss Twin Peaks 2010" Stephanie Ho.

Our first judges ballot included the names of all 28 contestants who strutted out on the stage in front of the crowd that was in the neighborhood of 1,000 rowdy fans that included comedian Pauly Shore, who was in town to perform at the Improv. After the first cut, we were given a different criteria that included six categories that would take the top ten down to the final three. With the title of "Miss Twin Peaks 2011" on the line, the Q & A segment gave us some amazing insight into these beauties such as "When I grow up I want to be a trophy wife," "If I were an animal, I would be a cougar," and "If I were a man I would watch sports and drink beer all day."

For the conclusion of the contest, all of the girls walked the red carpet back up onto the stage and Stephanie Ho placed the crown of Miss Twin Peaks 2011 on Brittany (Lil Brit) from Twin Peaks Frisco. As the winner, she received $1,000 and a feature in the upcoming Twin Peaks 2012 calendar.

Twin Peaks has seven locations throughout DFW.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
