Readers' Choice Round 1 results
Nearly 900 of you voted in the first round of our Readers' Bracket, and one race in particular was a such a super-squeaker that we had to launch an emergency runoff vote. Jackson's Grill and Johnny B's were neck-and-neck throughout Round 1, but when voting closed Monday, they were dead even. Alas, after a Bush vs. Gore-worthy runoff, we must bid adieu to Jackson's, which fought valiantly against Johnny B's, ultimately losing by 41 votes out of 1,191 cast. Otherwise, the results were decisive: You liked Cowtown institutions Kincaid's and Fred's over Tom's and Nicky D's. And M&O, which won the Readers' Bracket in 2009, handily defeated Fuddruckers. One upset we didn't see coming: In-N-Out, the fast food titan -- new to DFW -- fell hard to Grumps.
Overall, you saw eye-to-eye with the judges on 12 of the 16 matchups.
