Romo, Crawford to wed in DFW's royal wedding

Posted 9:49am on Saturday, May. 28, 2011

DFW's royal wedding is Saturday night. What, your invitation got lost in the mail, too?

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo and former local TV personality Candice Crawford will tie the knot on Saturday night at the historic Arlington Hall at Lee Park in uptown Dallas. You may remember Candice from her reports on sports and nightlife on Channel 33. Or perhaps you remember her as one of the shining stars in DFW.com's 2010 Hot Issue. She is also a former Miss Missouri and an all-around sweetheart.

Word is that wedding planners had to add a larger tent, to fit in all those football players (and Jerry Jones ego). Candice's brother, Chace Crawford of Gossip Girl fame, will be there too, which means you can expect to find a cadre of paparrazi hiding in the bushes.

Dallas celebrity party planner Todd Fiscus will be calling the signals (with Romo only offering his opinion on music choices, what a man's man!). Fiscus planned Giants quarterback Eli Manning's wedding a few years ago, so he should be fully prepared to keep the plates filled with enough food to feed hungry offensive lineman.

The couple is registered at Macy's and Crate & Barrel, just in case you want to send them a gift. And the most expensive item is a $550 vacuum cleaner.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
