Music minute: Quebe Sisters, 'Good Show' series highlight local music scene this week

Posted 7:57am on Wednesday, May. 25, 2011

Fort Worth quintet the Quebe Sisters Band continues to promote its pleasing brand of Western swing just about anywhere that will have 'em -- their grueling concert schedule can wear you out just looking at it. But rather than far-flung trips to Virginia, Tennessee or Massachusetts (all destinations down the road in 2011), the Quebes and their immaculate harmonies will be fluttering into downtown Arlington at the Levitt Pavilion for a free show Saturday. Call 817-543-4301 for more info.

The Good Show Live Music Series rolls on, with its latest installment hitting at 9 p.m. Saturday at -- where else? -- Lola's Saloon Sixth. Fort Worth hip-hop gets a look this month, as DFW.com favorite Dru B Shinin' takes the stage, along with performances from Dallas' hip-hop fusionists GalleryCat and funk-rockers the Boss Level. Tickets are $8 for the over-21 set and $10 for the not-yet-legal-to-drink crowd.
