Concert picks: Gogol Bordello at HOB and Crosby & Nash at Verizon

Posted 3:47pm on Thursday, Apr. 07, 2011

Gogol Bordello at House of Blues

Relentless road warriors Gogol Bordello have been at it for more than a decade, bringing their infectious Gypsy punk to venues large and small across the country and around the world. Fronted by the charismatic Eugene Hutz, the New York City-formed Gogol Bordello has enjoyed something approaching cult popularity here in the States. The nine-piece collective's latest, Trans-Continental Hustle, was released last spring to favorable reviews. "They once again sound like the world's most forward-thinking party band," observed Rolling Stone. With Grupo Fantasma.

8 p.m. Monday. House of Blues, Dallas. $19.99-$30.

Crosby & Nash at Verizon Theatre

In conjunction with their ongoing tour, celebrated singer-songwriters David Crosby and Graham Nash released Another Stoney Evening, a live set from 1971, on their newly created label, Blue Castle Records. It's a backward-glancing snapshot informing the current collaboration; Crosby and Nash will be joined by a full band, mixing acoustic and electric tunes. "Touring with a full band gives us the opportunity to do selections from our catalog that Graham and I haven't performed live together before," Crosby said in a statement. "We will also be introducing some brand new songs we've written, that have never been heard onstage or on record."

8 p.m. Wednesday. Verizon Theatre, Grand Prairie. $59.50-$69.50.
