The story of an ambitious young television producer trying to juggle work and romance, Morning Glory owes most of its existence to Broadcast News and the rest to The Devil Wears Prada. Give it credit for being smart enough to borrow from the best. Rachel McAdams plays Becky Fuller, just fired from her job running Good Morning, New Jersey, but given a shot at redemption. A fictional network's morning show, Daybreak, hires her to turn things around. Becky's bright idea? Recruit the grizzled former nightly news anchor Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford), a Dan Rather-ish figure recently put out to pasture by the network bigwigs. This is an endearing comedy that takes us into the sometimes buffoonish, but deadly serious and competitive world of morning news programs.
Inside Job, which won the Oscar for Best Documentary, is an alternately enthralling, shocking and infuriating examination of the double-dealing that brought the world economy to the brink of collapse.
Jackass 3D is at its best when it is about these guys playing well-orchestrated tricks on each other and the world at large, but it doesn't really take advantage of the 3-D technology.
