Celeb-spotting in DFW for Super Bowl XLV

Posted 10:28pm on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011

The Super Bowl XLV party scene had tons of big name Hollywood celebs and pro athletes out on Friday enjoying the Playboy party, Jesse Jane and others and Saturday for Maxim, Mark Cuban and Bonnie-Jill Laflin's soirees. However, the big name celebrities did not spend 24-7 at parties. For those who were curious as to where the A-Listers chose to hang out and spend their free time, here is the scoop:

FOUR SEASONS RESORT & CLUB The lavish home to the annual HP Byron Nelson Championship always attracts the rich and famous when they visit DFW. Whether it is the spa, the TPC golf course or its location in Las Colinas nestled directly in between DFW Airport and downtown Dallas, there is a little something for anyone to indulge in. Celebs we spotted while grabbing lunch at the Cafe on the Green included Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Diddy, Tony Romo and Candice Crawford and several of the FOX Sports announcers.

AL BIERNAT'S in Dallas was the big winner of Super Bowl XLV week on the Dallas restaurant scene. In what resembled a high-toned Beverly Hills eatery, Al Biernat's had Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz, Jerry Jones and family, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Sam Bradford, Matthew Stafford, Marcus Allen and Tobey Maguire.

W DALLAS VICTORY HOTEL The W is always a good place to spot visiting celebs with its proximity to American Airlines Center as well as being home to Ghostbar. Among the celebs to walk through their doors were Terrell Owens, Reggie Bush, Glee cast members Matthew Morrison, Chord Overstreet and Mark Salling, Evander Holyfield, Spike Lee, Jerry Ferrera, Eli and Archie Manning, Chace Crawford and Colt McCoy. Some were guests at the hotel while others dropped by to eat at Craft, hang at the Living Room Bar or visit the DIRECTV gifting lounge.

SMASHBURGER in Uptown may be the last place you would expect top spot a celeb -- other than its owners Dallas Cowboys Leonard Davis and Marc Columbo -- but when we stopped in for lunch on Saturday afternoon after our trip to the Crescent and before our venture over to the Ritz-Carlton, we spotted Entourage's Johnny Drama himself aka Kevin Dillon. When he finished his burger, he even went next door to the Cupcakery for dessert before jumping into a maroon SUV and being driven away.

BOB'S STEAK AND CHOP HOUSE located inside the sparkling new Omni Fort Worth Hotel
completely trumped the once-mighty Del Frisco's down the street. The luminaries to partake in the vibrant atmosphere of Bob's included the players, coaches and executives from the Pittsburgh Steelers (who stayed in the Omni for Super Bowl XLV week), ESPN personalities such as Chris Berman, Chris Mortensen, Tom Jackson and Keyshawn Johnson, NFL legends Jerry Kramer and "Mean" Joe Greene and Rush Limbaugh. Bob's was such a hot spot that they reported a record-breaking week of business.

RITZ-CARLTON DALLAS is a world-class hotel located in Uptown. While my buddies and I hung out in the bar, it was a world-class people-watching experience as we spotted Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz in a matter of minutes. And that does not even begin to describe the amount of beautiful women we saw in the bar and at Fearings Restaurant.
