Party Rock Bowl at Palladium Ballroom
Let's be honest: If you can't find some kind of Super Bowl party somewhere in North Texas this weekend, you're really just not trying hard enough. There are game-related goings-on everywhere you turn, thanks to Super Bowl XLV's presence at Cowboys Stadium. LMFAO and Far East Movement, two pop acts that have enjoyed a lot of success on the radio (Far East Movement, in particular, is responsible for the irritatingly catchy Like a G6), will set up shop at the hoppin' Palladium Ballroom for -- what else? -- the "Party Rock Bowl."
8 p.m. Friday. Palladium Ballroom, Dallas. $55-$75.
Amos Lee at House of Blues
Singer-songwriter Amos Lee is earning some of the best notices of his young career for his latest album, the just-released Mission Bell. Produced by Calexico's Joey Burns and featuring a pair of heavy-hitting cameos (from Lucinda Williams and Willie Nelson), Mission Bell is an absorbing, dust-blown work that should catapult Lee out of his relative obscurity. With Vusi Mahlasela.
8 p.m. Thursday. House of Blues, Dallas. $25-$40.
