As the Super Bowl bears down on North Texas, my e-mail inbox is starting to resemble that of a party planner's, not a music critic's. Every time I blink, there's another press release with bold-faced names and breathless details about the boozy good times on tap.
The latest comes courtesy of MetroPCS Communications and Samsung Mobile, who are joining forces to present the MVP Zone party (in conjunction with Dallas' 97.9 FM "The Beat") Feb. 4-5 at Club Cirque in downtown Dallas. Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will host the two-night shindig, which kicks off at 9 p.m. each night and features musical performances from Pittsburgh-based rapper Wiz Khalifa (whose Black and Yellow has become something of an anthem for the Super Bowl-bound Pittsburgh Steelers) on Friday and appearances from Roscoe Dash, Wale and Waka Flocka Flame on Saturday.
According to the release, 50 pairs of tickets for either night can be won by folks texting "MVPZONE" to 99222. There will also be a limited number of tickets available for purchase at the door on the days of the shows. Those interested can find more info right here.
