DIRECTV's Fifth Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl is set for Saturday, Feb. 5 in Victory Park. More than 10,000 spectators are expected to turn out to see celebrities, including Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford (brother of Channel 33's Candice Crawford), Marisa Miller (Victorias Secret and Sports Illustrated model), and Hayden Panetierre (Scream 4), suit up for the flag football game.
Other celebrities slated to play include Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Kevin Dillon (Entourage), Chord Overstreet (Glee), Matt Bomer (White Collar), Hunter Parrish (Weeds), Jerry Ferrera (Entourage), Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls, Dancing with the Stars), Michael B. Jordan (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood), Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie), Brie Larson (United States of TaraTM), and many more.
Former UT QB Colt McCoy of the Cleveland Browns will coach Team Spike and Giants QB Eli Manning will coach Team Palladia HD.
The teams will compete two 20-minute halves on more than 1 million pounds of imported sand. The action begins at 1:30pm with a pre-game show hosted by Dan Patrick and Kevin Frazier. The Beach Bowl will kick off at 2:30 with the action being called by Dan Patrick, Nancy O'Dell and Tony Siragusa. Get there early because it's expected to be a capacity crowd.
Immediately following the game and trophy presentation, the crowd will be allowed out on the beach for a concert featuring Grammy award-winning Maroon 5.
The game will be broadcast on DIRECTV channel 101 and Fox Sports Net. For the first time, this year's game will be shown in 3-D on DIRECTV n3D powered by Panasonic.
