We've been ranting about it for years: Fort Worth needs a Cafe Brazil! All that soul-nurturing French toast, hearty bacon and specialty coffee ... we need it closer. But as the quirky Dallas-based lunch and breakfast-all-the-time spot kept opening location after location around the Metroplex -- Carrollton, Plano, Dallas, Addison (10 in all) -- poor Funkytown was never on the roster. Until now. The nearly-20-year-old Cafe Brazil has signed a lease to open a spot on the TCU campus -- in the old Los Vaqueros spot at 2880 W. Berry St. They chose the location because the restaurant has done historically well near universities, CEO Brant M. Wood said in a press release. The plan is to open it sometime around mid-March in 2011. Bonus, for those late-night munchies: it'll be open 24/7. Woo-hoo! Pass the French toast.
We'll keep you updated on the progress, and you can also check in on Cafe Brazil's Facebook Fan Page.
