Taking aim at the best and worst of movies and television.
Six-foot-two, very thin, shy and somewhat awkward, Ann Ward says other kids used to pick on her a lot. But Wednesday, the 19-year-old from Dallas got the last word, winning cycle 15 of America's Next Top Model.
"All those comments about being too tall or just being not normal ... they're going to look back and think, 'Man, I should have been nice to that girl,'" Ward said after host Tyra Banks announced the winner.
Photographer Nigel Barker, a judge on the show, interjected, "You're not normal. You're America's Next Top Model."
The finale, which was filmed in Milan and other Italian locations, featured Ward and runner-up Chelsey Hersley of Boise, Idaho, in photo challenges, as well as shooting a CoverGirl mascara commercial together and in a runway show modeling clothes by designer Roberto Cavalli.
The runway show also featured Arlington's Chris White and Liz Williams, who made the final six. Chris White's sister Terra, also of Arlington, was eliminated early in the season.
Ward will receive a contract with IMG Models, fashion spreads in Vogue Italia and Beauty in Vogue and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics.
