The next great burger is here. And its in Arlington.
Former Dallas prime steakhouse chef Kenny Mills serves it up at his new Chop House Burgers, open on Park Row Drive near Fielder Road.
Mills isnt the first big-name local chef to open a tiny burger stand. Fort Worth chef Tim Love has made headlines nationwide with his Love Shack burgers.
Chop House Burgers is reminiscent of Love Shack, not for the setting but for the flavor of the beef mixed steak and brisket and for side dishes such as the homemade jalapeno-dusted potato chips. The specialty is a steakhouse-style burger with applewood bacon, cheddar and a light steak sauce, all on a butter-toasted bun with high-quality lettuce, tomato and pickles ($6.25).
A Texican burger packs jalapenos, cilantro and onions into the beef patty. Sides include fresh-made steak chili.
For dessert, theres sawdust pie or cinnamon-custard pie.
Chop House Burgers is open daily for lunch and dinner at 1700 W. Park Row Drive; 817-459-3700, chophouseburgers.com.
