A grand opening for Boomer Jack's in Lincoln Square

Posted 2:52pm on Monday, Nov. 01, 2010

The sparkling new Boomer Jack's Grill and Bar opened on the day of Game 3 of the World Series in the sprawling Lincoln Square shopping center. Sitting in the shadows of Rangers Ballpark and Cowboys Stadium, on the southwest corner of Collins and I-30 in north Arlington, it is the ideal place to hit before going to a big game. It's also the ideal place to watch a game.

Two covered patios on either side of the main entrance are set up as mini-lounges with couches and comfy chairs angled toward the flatscreens. And speaking of flatscreens, this Boomer Jack's has 130! If you add in the three huge TVs, there are 133 crystal-clear screens dedicated to watching sports.

Boomer Jack's has Happy Hour all day...everyday. The specials include $2 domestic pints, $3 domestic pilsners and $3 well drinks. And there are different daily specials, with my favorite being Tuesday's $2 U Call It (Crown & Down) and 49 cent Wings.

I made it a point to grab my favorite entree, Country Fried Steak Fingers (like I used to get at Dairy Queen when I was a kid) and they were great! I can envision this being the "Place to Be" in north Arlington, something this area has lacked for some time. And don't forget it you are attending an event at Cowboys Stadium or Rangers Ballpark, all you have to do is spend $40 at Lincoln Square, put your receipt on the dash and you have a place to park.
