'Grease: The Official Video Game'
This is the one that we want (ooh-ooh-ooh). The original high-school musical is now in video-game form (for Wii and Nintendo DS), and you can sing alongside Danny, Sandy and the Pink Ladies. Dibs on Rizzo, to whom we're hopelessly devoted.
When: Available Tuesday
Where: In stores and online
Cost: $30-$40
Info: www.greasethegame.com
'Bach at Leipzig' Itamar Moses is a playwright whom the New York critics were calling "hot" before he was 30. And not because he's cute (which he is). He also has the goods to back up that praise, including this 1722-set play about musicians competing to become the new organist at the largest church in Leipzig, Germany. It makes its area premiere at Circle Theatre. Look for tie-ins with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra's upcoming Baroque Celebration.
When: Thursday-Sept. 18
Where: Circle Theatre, 230 W. Fourth St., Fort Worth
Cost : $20-$35
Info: www.circletheatre.com
'Get Low' Robert Duvall stars in this well-reviewed indie film based on a 1930s Tennessee hermit who threw one hell of a funeral party. For himself. While he was still alive. That Duvall can get away with anything.
When: Friday to Sunday and Aug. 27-29
Where: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St.
Cost: $6.50-$8.50

Hatch chile mania
Nothing like adding to the 110-degree heat index with a couple of Hatch chile festivals. Both Central Market and Market Street are honoring this flaming pepper. The Fort Worth Central Market has samples, recipe demos and music on the patio 7-9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The fest spills over into the weekend of Aug. 27, and the store has a serious recipe contest going. (Deadline is Aug. 29; more details on the website.) Market Street is hosting its Get Fired Up Hatch Chile Roast Festival in all six Metroplex stores. Expect lots of roasting, and some hot specials.
When: Central Market: Friday and Saturday; Market Street: Saturday and Sunday
Cost: The fests are free, but you'll pay for your pack o' peppers.

David Alan Grier
He has done Broadway (most recently in David Mamet's Race), film and even Dancing With the Stars, but in our book, DAG is still best remembered for the sketch comedy show In Living Color. Our fave characters were his old blues singer and Antoine in the "Men on Film" series. We've seen his stand-up act, and we give it two snaps up, in a circle.
When: 8 p.m. Thursday; 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 6:30 and 9 p.m. Saturday; 7:30 p.m. Sunday
Where: Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road, Addison
Cost: $25

'The Great Food Truck Race' Some of our favorite meals were purchased by walking up to a taco truck. Jump aboard this week, because the Aug. 29 episode brings the action to Fort Worth.
When: 9 p.m. Sundays, Food Network

North Texas State Fair and Rodeo Fort Worthers know that when it comes to rodeos and fairs, the Stock Show can't be beat. Music highlights include concerts by Randy Rogers Band and Mark Chesnutt.
When : Friday through Aug. 28
Where: North Texas State Fairgrounds, 2217 N. Carroll Blvd., Denton
Cost: $12; $5 for ages 7-12; concerts and rodeos free with admission

'Step Up 3D' OK, so maybe you don't go to this flick for Oscar-caliber acting. Here are two better reasons: killer dance sequences, and a part for Fort Worth's Joshua Allen. A sweet guy who's also a powerful dancer, he won So You Think You Can Dance in 2008. His role in the movie is small, but it has a cool twist. (And, um, you can dance to it.)
Where: In wide release
Cost: $8-$13
