Mellow Mushroom cropping up in Arlington
Rick Press
Ever get the feeling Arlington is just trying to copy us?
First, they got a Fuzzy's near UTA. Now, they're getting a Mellow Mushroom, another TCU-area favorite.
What's next, a Dutch's? (That is named after the famed TCU football coach!)
Truth is The Mellow Mushroom is an Atlanta-based chain, so it's not a Fort Worth original per se. But its laid back vibe and funky cow out front -- not to mention the pizza -- fit right in on Bluebonnet Circle.
The new location will be at 200 North Center St. in Arlington, not too far from Cowboys stadium. No word yet on when it will open. They've already applied for a liquor license, but a quick call to MM headquarters said training isn't set to begin until early 2011. Stay tuned.
