Sip a bellini on the patio at Fort Worth's Patrizio

Posted 11:09am on Friday, Jun. 11, 2010

Highland Park has come to West Seventh Street.

Patrizio Pizza Pasta & Vino is open near Seventh and University Drive, and that isn't the only news in the shops called West 7th.

Brownstone Restaurant, the newest effort from Top Chef contestant Casey Thompson, will open in the same block next weekend.

But this week, the spotlight is on Patrizio, the 20-year-old Italian restaurant known for inexpensive pastas such as chicken mushroom lasagna -- and particularly, for potent bellinis.

Patrizio was founded by investor Jack Knox of Weatherford and now belongs to Ed Bailey of Plano, the restaurateur who also owns nearby Bailey's Prime Plus.

"We see lots of Fort Worth people in the Highland Park restaurant, and they've asked for a Patrizio's for a long time," said Gary Van Gundy, a company executive.

The new Patrizio will keep late hours: until midnight weekends, 11 p.m. most weeknights.

It'll have a patio and a larger bar than the original location.

Patrizio is at 2932 Crockett St.; 817-698-0003, patrizios.net.

Brownstone Restaurant is tentatively scheduled to open at 840 Currie St. next weekend, although that date has been flexible.

A menu is forthcoming early next week on the website: www.brownstonerestaurants.com. Call 817-332-1555.

Tex-Mex and tequila combine at a flashy new North Richland Hills restaurant.

Anejo House of Tequila, an elaborate Tex-Mex grill and bar offering 64 tequilas, is open on Boulevard 26 at Precinct Line Road across from Carino's.

The restaurant has a large patio and an extensive menu that offers both seafood and Tex-Mex specialties, reminiscent of an Uncle Julio's but in a stylized decor more like a Mi Cocina.

More to come about Anejo: 9159 Grapevine Highway (Boulevard 26), 817-485-9900, anejohot.com.

M & M Steak House, a beloved iconic dive cafe near the Stockyards, is offering its first-ever dinner special.

The M & M signature chicken-fried steak -- served West Texas-style with added garlic and pepper -- is half-price, $5.50, on Tuesdays.

The M & M is known for adding a layer of garlic and pepper to every steak on request -- and for the country songs on an old-time jukebox.

It's a cinderblock cavern that also serves rib-eyes and T-bones, pork chops, and a huge chopped steak; 1106 N.W. 28th St. (Texas 183 west of North Main Street), 817-624-0612.

Don't get the M & M confused with the M&O.

The M&O Station Grill, a popular burger cafe and nostalgia diner near the Cultural District, has added Sunday hours.

The M&O and adjacent Leonard's Department Store Museum are now open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays and also offer delivery; 200 Carroll St., 817-882-8020, www.fwscreen.com/fwscreen.com/M&O_Grill.html.
