And then there were eight.
That's how many sports bars remain after two rounds of voting in our Best Damn Sports Bars bracket. And we're beginning to see some more upsets, especially in the Wing-Dinger and Upscale Sports Bar regions.
Plucker's, a No. 1 seed and one-time lock to make the Final Four, was defeated convincingly by TCU fave Buffalo Bros.
And Sports Lounge @ Texas Station, the top seed in the Upscale Sports Bars region, was upended by the surprise of the tournament so far, Charleston's. It will face Whiskey & Rye in the final in that region while Buffalo Bros. takes aim at the popular chain Buffalo Wild Wings, which easily defeated Hooters in Arlington.
In fact, Hooters laid an egg in both of its matchups this week bracket. The West End Hooters lost in the Breastaurants region to powerhouse and No. 1 seed Bone Daddy's. Meanwhile, burger and babes favorite Jakes keeps rolling along, defeating the Overtime Sports Bar and Grill. Jakes will face Bone Daddy's in a Breastaurants battle royale.
Finally, in the pure sports bars region it will be a clash of titans between No. 1 seed Fox and Hound and No. 3 Pour House. The Pour House could have an edge. Its popular new spot on West Seventh St. in Fort Worth is always packed. But Fox and Hound won't go down easily.
