A heaping helping of news & reviews from DFW’s dining scene.
Among tasty bits I picked up this week was word that the new brunch at Love Shack in So7 is a monster hit. Owner-chef Tim Love says that the patio was mobbed for hours last Sunday. In addition to the signature burgers and fries, there's a brunch entree that changes each week.
Hits so far have included eggs baked with pasta; quiche filled with bacon and goat cheese or portobellos and truffles; and what the kitchen calls its 3 A.M. Breakfast, a hoagie roll that's given a French toast treatment, with a stuffing of bacon or sausage and a drizzle of coffee-infused syrup. Those entrees are typically $7 to $10 and are served from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
If it's a pretty weekend day, Love Shack is serving up to 1,000 customers - so you may want to pick an off-hour to visit. If you can find such a thing. In any case, be sure to toast the weekend with a cucumber-jalapeno margarita
