'Sunday in the Park With George'

The emotion-charged stories and characters of this now-classic Broadway musical all were based on the twisting and turning life of French painter Georges Seurat. This musical's brilliant first half, where Seurat's pointillist masterpiece comes alive, is matched only by its second act, where a modern-day "George" reaches the conclusion that making, and living, art is not easy. The show runs March 19-April 11 at OnStage in Bedford, 2819 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford. $12-$15. 817-354-6444; www.onstageinbedford.com.

Los Lobos

and Leo Kottke

It has been more than three decades since East Los Angeles group Los Lobos started churning out its particular brand of music, and the band has remained fresh because it successfully mashes disparate genres such as Tex-Mex, rock, rhythm and blues, folk, and country with strictly traditional Mexican and Spanish music. On the same stage with Los Lobos will be Leo Kottke, who knows a thing or two about strumming six- and 12-string guitars to create a blend of country, blues and folk. The musicians take the Bass Hall stage at 8 p.m. March 22. $23-$53. 817-212-4280; www.basshall.com.
