David Gray
English troubadour David Gray had some success in the late '90s -- you remember Babylon, from his White Ladder album -- but that brief visit to the American mainstream was short-lived.
That's a shame, as Gray has continued to evolve as one of pop music's most riveting talents, turning out a steady stream of albums that light up critics' eyes but fail to connect with Stateside ears addled by Lady Gaga. Gray's latest, 2009's Draw the Line, is rife with earnest songs and atmospheric melodies.
8 p.m. Tuesday. With Phosphorescent. Nokia Theatre, Grand Prairie. $29.50-$49.50. 800-745-3000; www.ticketmaster.com
