Meant to get to this last week, but Spune head honcho Lance Yocum sent over a note explaining that, beginning March 25, the outfit will start booking Lochrann's Irish Pub & Eatery in ... waitaminnit ... Frisco?! Yup, according to Spune, "there are few live music establishments in the area, and even fewer hosting original local music. Therefore, concert-goers travel to Dallas and Denton to get their fix. It has been encouraging to see so many ticket buyers coming from the area. We've seen a good amount of music fans represented at our shows in Denton and Dallas over the past year whose zip codes fall within the Frisco, Plano, and greater Northern Dallas cities."
So, acts like the Early Republic, Seryn or Josh Weathers & the True Endeavors will now be part of a Thursday night music series, which, so far, is booked through the end of April. There's no cover, the evening starts around 8 at 6195 Main St. in Frisco and, as Spune says, "This way, in the year 2012 when either the world ends, or Frisco becomes a highly sought-after live music destination among the Metroplex, we'd at least know we gave it a try or were on the right track."
