Haitian Relief Guitar Concert with Christopher McGuire and Mak Grgic

The horrors of the Haitian earthquake are fresh on the mind of the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society as the group, paired with the Allegro Guitar Society of Dallas, presents a fundraising concert featuring two masters of the instrument: Christopher McGuire and Slovenian musician Mak Grgic.

7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary the Virgin Catholic Church, 1408 N. Davis Dr., Arlington. $10-$15. 817-498-0363; www.guitarsociety.org.

North Texas Jazz Artist Series presents: Wess Anderson

Wess Anderson's nickname is "Warmdaddy." "Warmth" could be an apt description of his work on the alto-saxophone and the kind of playing he has contributed to several super-star jazz musicians, starting with Wynton Marsalis.

7:30 p.m. Tuesday at McDavid Studio, 301 E. Fifth St., Fort Worth. $5-$20. 817-212-4280; www.basshall.com.

Slim Richey's Jitterbug Vipers Concert

Slim Richey proclaims that he's the "most dangerous guitar player in Texas." Richey, with his memorably named crew of backing players, the Jitterbug Vipers, has secured the local stage of Arts Fifth Avenue to make his case for being the area's most dangerous man with six strings.

8:15 p.m. Saturday at Arts Fifth Avenue, 1628 Fifth Ave., Fort Worth. $15. 817-923-9500; www.artsfifthavenue.org.
