Last Saturday night, I joined The Guys (JaMarcus, the two Andrews, and Pierro) to hit up Bar 9 on the corner of Houston and 8th streets in downtown Fort Worth. It sits on a prime spot between the Omni Hotel and Sundance Square, which might help explain the line snaking out the door as we arrived.
It was a good sign when we walked inside that the place was really crowded, as opposed to some places in Dallas that have long lines only to find about a dozen or so people actually inside the club. We gave the crowd a thumbs-up for its special brand of diversity -- and by that, I mean there were several hottt blondes with sparkling blue eyes and short black dresses that barely covered their long tanned legs. On the other hand, there were several girls with short black hair that had so many tattoos they could have easily sneaked onto the set of Miami Ink. Basically, there was a little of something for everybody. We walked in on "The Street Level," which has a bar to the back left and a section that is available for reservations via bottle service. There was a lot of traffic on this level, yet still easy enough to get a drink at the end of the bar closest to the DJ.
"The Basement," which has its entrance to the immediate left when you walk inside, is a pulse-pounding dance club that was shoulder-to-shoulder from the second we got off the stairs. There are a couple of elevated seating areas with bottle service that provided a great view of the insane action.
My favorite part was "The Second Floor," which can be accessed by walking past the bar on the Street Level and down the back hallway. The music is not nearly as loud as the lower levels and actually has a rather chill vibe; multiple rooms with leather couches and chairs to hang out in and relax.
On a cold Saturday night in Fort Worth, Bar 9 had us on cloud nine.
