Interested in becoming a DIVA? Women of all ages, races, backgrounds and financial means are welcome. In addition to group hunting events, there are leagues, road trips, girls' weekends, competitive shooting events, gun clinics for women, raffles and cocktail parties. Membership dues are a mere $75 -- or one decent pair of heels -- and special offers to members include discounts on a shiny .38 revolver. The ladies have two major events on the horizon
Get locked and loaded March 20 at the annual Ladies Spring Shooting and Outdoor Clinic at Elm Fork Shooting Sports, 10751 Luna Road. Cost is $45 in advance and includes instruction in: pistol, rifle, shotgun, fly-casting, spin-casting, black-powder rifle, compound bow, BB gun or hunting dog 101. Attendees are asked to bring eye and ear protection. Do not bring handguns as .22-caliber pistols will be provided. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine, and lunch will be provided.
And if you're in the mood, join the DIVAs March 18 for a pre-clinic cocktail party and new member welcome at Orvis, 8300 Preston Road, Suite 300, in Dallas. The attire for the evening is DIVA fun. Attendees are asked to RSVP.
