Watch the Oscars with DFW.com

What would you like to see in the Best Picture race?
Posted 7:12am on Thursday, Feb. 04, 2010

Are you ready to do your best Julia Child impression? Or get in touch with your inner-Avatar?

You can indulge those Oscar fantasies and more at DFW.com's second annual Oscar Watching Party at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Along with our buddies and co-hosts at the Lone Star Film Society, we'll roll out the red carpet Sunday, March 7, at the Modern, where you'll be able to eat, drink, win fabulous prizes and watch the Academy Awards telecast on the big screen in the museum's auditorium.

Doors opens at 6 p.m., and DFW.com will be on the red carpet, snapping photos of the arrivals and interviewing the famous and nonfamous alike. The Oscar telecast pre-show kicks off at 7 p.m., and the ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. We'll be giving away prizes all night and during each commercial break.

This year, we're especially excited to be offering a special grand prize to the best Oscar-inspired costume of the year. Do you own a platinum blonde wig, high heels and a football? A bomb-defusing suit? Heck, if you want to get drunk, gain 40 pounds and don a cowboy hat, you might just win over the judges' crazy hearts.

Attendance is free, and no tickets are necessary, although if you want to reserve a spot in the auditorium you can e-mail Tina Gorski (tgorski@themodern.org). We'll also have TVs tuned to the broadcast in the museum's lobby, where many of our guests preferred to schmooze in proper Hollywood fashion last year.
