Derrick Paez, owner-chef at the lovely Aventino in Fort Worth's Ridglea neighborhood, told friends on Friday morning that his restaurant will close permanently.
The closing is effective immediately. Friends suggested that Derrick and wife Monica need to turn attention to a serious medical issue in the family.
Derrick, friends said, was appreciative that loyal restaurant fans recently stepped up to try to boost business, which has lagged after the renovated Aventino reopened with a more sophisticated menu and look early last year.
