It's been a tradition for many folks to sit in their living rooms and watch New Year's Rockin' Eve on TV with the famed ball drop at midnight. Now you can see it for real for less than $200 and without fighting the crowds of Time Square.
OK, it's the ball in Dallas (a.k.a. Reunion Tower), but it's better than being on the couch and more frugal and less claustrophobic than being in N.Y.
If you want to start 2010 with a lavish meal, Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck in Reunion Tower will be offering two seatings on New Years Eve. The first is from 5 to 7 p.m. and guests can order off the regular dinner menu. For the second seating, from 8 to 10:30 p.m., diners partake in a five-course prix fixe menu at $145 per person. At 10 p.m., a DJ will get the party started. There's also a buffet option in Reunion Towers private event room from 8.30 to 12.30 a.m. The New Years Eve buffet offers two options: $95 per person for the buffet, a champagne toast, party favors and a cash bar; or a VIP package for $150 per person which includes the buffet, party favors and a platinum hosted bar.
Reunion Towers Observation Deck will also be open for a New Years party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets $125 per person.
