If you haven't picked up Fort Worth Foodie, a magazine devoted to the passions of -- you guessed it -- foodies, go find a copy. The fledgling publication works hard at unearthing good material for food-loving readers who want to know where to find good grassroots information and products.
Although published only quarterly, Foodie's aim seems to be true. The Fall 2009 issue has a story on the Cowtown Farmers Market, which is getting better each week; a showcase piece on Cold Springs Farm at Weatherford; a guide to restaurants around town that feature local products; a profile on Louise Lamensdorf, owner of Bistro Louise and her start in the local culinary scene 30 years ago; a note about Jamie Fulton's recent awards for his brews at the Covey Restaurant; and my favorite, a "Chef's Table" column by Asdren Albanese, owner-chef at Ruffino's, who writes about what essential elements go into exceptional restaurant service.
Find Foodie at Central Market, Whole Foods, Ellerbe Fine Foods and Ruffino's, among other places.
