The Sheraton Hotel & Spa (formerly the Ramada) is nestled in between I-30, I-35W and the Fort Worth Convention Center. Inside the recently remodeled hotel sits the Shula's 347 Grill. The restaurant is named after the winningest coach in NFL history, Don Shula, who had 347 career victories.
My buddy Chip and sat in the bar ,which has a nice view of the Water Gardens across Commerce Street and several flat screen TVs. The place was pretty casual, and there was a decent-sized crowd when we went at 6:30 p.m. on a Thursday night. Actually, the crowd seemed to be a mixture of hotel guests and a few downtown businessmen. The only problem: There weren't many ladies.
We started off with BBQ Shrimp for an appetizer and both had Shula Cut steaks. My filet mignon was really good and I was very happy to see my favorite channel, NFL Network, on in the background.
Being an avid NFL fan, I really enjoyed looking around the restaurant at the memoribillia ranging from photos of sports legends to a replica Super Bowl trophy. While Ft. Worth is full of great steakhouses, Shula's felt like more of a bar and grill with a good steak. We'll likely be back Shula's 347 Grill 1701 Commerce St., Fort Worth (817) 870-2700
