Getting your game face on for Friday's first Cowboys home game? They'll do a preseason dance against the visiting Tennessee Titans (HI, Vince!) and you can bet that neighboring watering holes and restaurants are good and ready. Whether or not you'll be watching the game at Jerry's new hangout, there are gameday deals around and about the neighborhood this season.
Here's a sampling of some specials to grab when the Cowboys play.
Eat at any of the restaurants in Lincoln Square and put your receipt for $40 or more (face-up, with game date showing) on your dashboard and get free parking. The stadium’s maybe a 5-minute walk south along Collins. Best of all, you can spend that $40-plus in a combination of places, if you like, ie, $20 at Birraporetti’s and $20 at Petland.
At Olenjack’s Grille, there’s an Ultimate Tailgating Event for all home games. A big food-and-beverage buffet includes salad, burgers, dogs, ancho pulled pork or smoked beef brisket grilled or fried chicken, white cheddar and bacon grits, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, sweet potato chips, porter beer brownies, chocolate chip, cherry and bacon cookies and beer, wine and soda. That’s $50 plus tax and tip per person or $25 plus tax and tip per person for guests under 21. Kids 5 and under are free. The party begins three hours before kickoff on home games.
Traildust offers a buy-one, get-one entrée free up to $15, and there’s a $2 bottled domestic beer special for ticket holders on game day.
Jason's Deli in Lincoln Square only is offering 10 percent off meals with ticket stub on game day; alcohol not included. The more Cowboy gear you’re wearing, the biggest discount you may get.
Dickey’s BBQ Pit on Ballpark Way gets your tailgating organized by offering $5 off family packs feeding 4 to 6. Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen on Copeland Road will offer happy hour prices all day on Sunday home gamedays. And you can get free parking if you dine in before the game.
Humperdink's in Arlington will offer park- and-ride shuttles for dining customers, and there will be drink specials in the bar, too.
