The Burger Podcast, Vol. 2

Posted 4:25pm on Tuesday, Aug. 04, 2009

After weeks of chomping their way from burger joint to burger joint, our judges have settled on the Final Four. Listen as Christopher Kelly, Rick Press and Heather Svokos explain which burgers rose to the challenge -- and which are best forgotten.

The Fort Worth Bracket: "It's big, it's messy, but it's what a burger should be"
The top two seeds, Kincaid's and Fred's, square off in a match-up of contrasting styles and sensibilities. Does messy boldness triumph over old-fashioned elegance?

The Chain Bracket: "Of course it should fall apart. It's so stuffed."
Take nothing away from Fuddruckers, which is one of the tastiest chains around. But poor Fudds had to face off against the peerless Pappas Burger.

The Dallas Bracket: "We're looking for the Brokeback Mountain of hamburgers"
Our judges regard the Dallas bracket -- which pit Jakes and Scotty P's against each other in the Elite Eight -- as the most disappointing.

The Mid-Cities Bracket: "A little overly crispy bacon set me off in the wrong direction"
A Southlake showdown, as Five Guys comes up against its neighbor Johnny B.'s. Was this the closest of all the matches?
