Woo-hoo! Food is half-off at new Love Shack!

Tim Love is offering trial service at his new Love Shack in So7 Wednesday from 11 am-2:30 pm and Thursday 11 am-midnight. Food is 50 percent off while he tests the new kitchen and service systems. Friday is the real opening day, with service from 11 am until 2 am, with full pricing in place. Brunch, a new addition, will be offered 11 am-2:30 pm.

The party for celebrating the new Love Shack will be a backyard barbecue for family and friends (and you) on Sunday. He’s calling it For the Love of Lamb, and the fun kicks off at 3 p.m. Love, a spokesman for the American Lamb Board, will prepare Dirty Lamb Burgers and lamb chops and host a lamb-cooking demo.

Best of all, Love’s staging a chef competition, with Top Chef’s Ilan Hall and Richard Blais, as well as local chefs Blaine Staniford of Grace, Jason Boso of Twisted Root Burger, Kent Rathbun from Abacus, Scott Freeman of the Porch, Jon Bonnell of Bonnell’s and Scott Romano from Charlie Palmer at the Joule.

The party lasts until 6 pm but the restaurant remains open Sunday until midnight. Find the new shop at 817 Matisse (off Seventh Street between Montgomery Plaza and Trinity Park); 817-348-9655.
