First Impressions: Miranda Lambert, 'Dead Flowers'

Posted 2:29pm on Thursday, May. 14, 2009

More Like Her, from Miranda Lambert's 2007 sophomore smash Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, just rips my heart out every time I hear it. I mention Her because it seems to have paved the way for Lambert's latest single Dead Flowers, an exquisitely rendered portrait of a shattered relationship just released to country radio a couple weeks back. Lambert told Billboard her next album is due in September and may feature her trying on some new sounds, in an effort to embrace her "left-of-centeredness." If this terrific track is what we can expect, bring it on.

We now have a new, simpler way for you to enter and search for events, at listings.dfw.com. As always, when you submit an event to appear online, it will also be available for us in our print publication. But now you can simply enter your event and provide an email address, rather than creating a separate account and registering. Our new listings tool is still a work in progress, so we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune it. Please contact us at hsvokos@dfw.com if you have any questions or concerns.
