Your backstage pass to the DFW music scene and beyond.
Whenever I'm looking to cut through the country music clutter and get straight to the good stuff, I always make The9513.com one of my first stops ... the writing staff has a nose for talent, fantastic BS detector and a willingness to slaughter sacred cows, if need be (a rare find when it comes to Nashville).
The site is sponsoring a pair of singer/songwriters -- Drew Kennedy and Pleasanton native Rodney Hayden -- who'll make their way across the country and beyond as part of the "New American Voices" tour.
Said tour kicks off at 8 p.m. tonight in Dallas at Adair's Saloon. The 9513.com managing editor Jim Malec says "both of these guys are really excellent." What's more, the site for the tour seems designed for maximum interactive impact, with both guys blogging, Twittering, Flickr-ing and offering up free tunes for download.
If you miss 'em tonight, the tour winds its way back through Dallas on April 30 (again at Adair's Saloon) and Fort Worth on May 13 (Woody's Tavern).
