Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in DFW

Posted 4:37pm on Monday, Jan. 05, 2009

If you've ever channel-surfed to the Food Network, you've probably seen Guy Fieri, the guy wearing a bowling shirt and peroxided-out spikey hair.

Well, over the next couple of days you might see him in DFW as one of his shows, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, will be filming in Fort Worth and Dallas.

On Tuesday, keep an eye out for Guy's hot rod at Fred's Texas Cafe in Fort Worth's Cultural District. Maybe he'll dig into a Diablo Burger.

Later that day, he'll be at Louie's pizza joint on N. Henderson in Dallas.

On Wednesday, he'll hit Avila's Mexican Restaurant in the AM, and the beloved Twisted Root Burger in Deep Ellum in the afternoon or evening. He better not miss out on the shakes.

If you haven't watched Guy on TV, you know he's got an Emeril attitude with a bit of Hulk Hogan mixed in. And he can cook!

So we're glad to have him in town for a couple of days.

Update

Bud Kennedy, who was at Fred's on Tuesday, reports that the crew also shot Monday at Chef Point Cafe, a gas station-gourmet cafe in Watauga, and Jamaica Gates in Arlington. And our Robert Philpot will be interviewing Guy this afternoon, so check back for that post and some photos.

For now, let's have lunch.
