About the author

Robert Philpot was reading TV- and movie-review columns in TV Guide, as well as memorizing the listings, by the time he was 10 years old. Now, he writes mostly about TV, but has also contributed to the radio, movie and pop-music beats. When he’s not filling his head with noise, Robert enjoys dining out, travel, collecting old Top 40 songs on iTunes and trying to shoot lower than 110 on the golf course.

Friday round-up

--While Sarah Palin does serious interviews with ABC's Charles Gibson, Barack Obama goes for comedy with a cameo on Saturday Night Live, Television Week reports. And the possibility of Tina Fey returning to SNL to play Palin grows stronger, ETOnline says this morning.

--The Hollywood Reporter has good news -- I hope -- for Katee Sackhoff fans. I say "I hope" because I happen to be a fan, and I have a hard time seeing Sackhoff in this show, which sounds kinda like a Cold Case ripoff.

--Variety has bad news for Jerry O'Connell's new sitcom Do Not Disturb, but I suspect that Fox will keep it on just to defy all the critics who said it wouldn't last two weeks.

--Jennie Garth keeps dancing with 90210, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello reports.

--Even Mark Cuban has to bow to the power of Hurricane Ike, which is leading to the postponement of Cuban's scheduled appearance this weekend with Ed "Uncle Barky" Bark.
